The Snow Oval is BACK!

Join us Thursday 3/23 at 5:30pm for the high banked snowmobile racing action you won't want to miss.  By popular demand, the Snow Oval is set to feature the return of the 2-Up Race and Mechanics Race!
For the past few seasons, weather hasn't permitted us to  host the annual Grassroots Snocross finale, the Snow Oval. This year, we were more determined than ever to make it happen.

The track build is underway and we are expecting temps in the high 30's. We hope to see you there!

FORMAT

The snow oval is a fun, feel-good race. We will run the format the same as we run our regular snocross races.  We can anticipate more vintage sleds because of the smooth oval race.  We will run 2 rounds and the overall points winner for the day will place 1-3.  The 2 up race is a race where you have two people on the sled.  The mechanics race is usually a race where its like a relay style race one person drives the sled 2-3 laps and then pulls up hops off the sled and then the other person takes over.  If we have enough participants we will also have a powder puff race for mom's/girlfriends.

All classes are welcome. Racers can register now: https://erx.raceday.pro/sign_in

Ticket information for the entire 2017 season is now available at torcseries.com.

The 2017 season will include PRO 4WD, PRO 2WD and PRO Light and PRO UTV racing in all rounds. Each race weekend will include Sportsman class drivers; with the goal of encouraging new talent to get behind the wheel.

Last season, the TORC series was the first short-course off-road race to experience ERX’s purpose built track. Drivers were blown away by the challenging and fun track design. ERX offers the whole family a unique racing experience with open pit access for fans to connect with their favorite drivers, onsite camping and fantastic visibility of the entire track via the natural amphitheater. TORC will include two race weekends at ERX in 2017, including The Final Round: TORC National Championship (9/23-24).

The TORC series first made its debut at “America’s Motocross Track” back in 2011 and is excited to return to RedBud; home to the highest attended motocross races, first-class fan amenities and lush southwestern Michigan soil. Two camping lots, one for family-only lot and an adult lot are open for reservation.  Camping for both Friday and Saturday. Hungry drivers will battle on berms, jumps, and whoops as they try to make their way to the front of this difficult-to-pass racetrack.

The complete TORC experience extends beyond the races with open pit access for fans and future racers of all ages—giving people the opportunity to get up close to the PRO 4WD, PRO 2WD, PRO Light and UTV machines while meeting the drivers. Additionally, post-race track walks bring fans onto the dirt. Additionally, most stops offer camping enabling the off-road community a complete weekend experience.

Tickets information for TORC is available at torcseries.com/tickets. Active and retired military personnel can receive a free event entry with a valid military ID through Vettix.com.

Young Riders Accelerate Their Performance At 8th Annual FXR Learn 2 Ride Clinic at ERX Motor Park

Elk River, Minn. [December 29, 2016] More than 60 young, up-and-coming snocross racers took part in ERX Motor Park’s annual FXR Learn to Ride Clinic over the 2016 holiday break. The ERX exclusive event gives aspiring snowmobile racers a chance to improve their riding skills and work one on one with some of the biggest names in the sport. Now in its eighth year, the clinic has played a major role in ERX becoming recognized as one of the sport’s premiere racing venues for riders of all ages and abilities.

This year, the clinic featured two separate days of clinics and set a new record for participant registrations; the first being tailored for 120 riders and the second for older riders on full-size sleds. Participants received coaching from more than 20 national Sport, Pro-Lite and Pro-Open riders including top national racers Kyle Pallin, Andrew Carlson, Ryan Springer, Kody Kamm and others.

“This is exactly the kind of atmosphere we want ERX to be known for,” track co-owner Chris Carlson said.

Carlson, along with business partner Todd Plaisted, envisioned ERX as more than just a race track when they first broke ground in 2007. They were determined to build a facility that was an integral part of the local community as well as the entire snowmobile industry.

“We really want ERX to be a place where everyone feels welcome,” Carlson said. “Whether you’re a fan, a first-time rider or a national level pro, our mission has always been to create a place where good sportsmanship is always expected, families are welcome and no one feels intimidated.”

The success of the FXR Learn to Ride Clinic is evident by many of the coaches who were on hand to lend their knowledge to younger riders. Many participated in the clinic when they were younger, and now they’re giving back to the sport they love.

“This is probably my favorite event of the year,” said national Pro-Open rider Andrew Carlson. “Seeing all the kids gaining confidence and getting faster during the day is really rewarding. And it’s great to see so many other top riders volunteering their time as well. There’s really nothing else like this (Learn to Ride Clinic) in the sport and ERX is the perfect place to have it.”

Aside from making sure every participant left ERX with FXR gear as part of their Learn 2 Ride experience, FXR views the clinic as a tremendous asset to the sport.

“Snowmobiling has always been a family sport and snocross racing is no different,” said FXR Marketing and Special Projects Manager Doug Rust. “Everything about ERX is family focused and they’re always looking for ways to give back. We couldn’t be more proud to be associated with both the event and ERX.”

TORC: The Off-Road Championship Announces 2017 Schedule

(via TORCSeries.com) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

2017 will include New Championship Location at ERX Motor Park

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (October 31, 2016): TORC: The Off-Road Championship presented by AMSOIL has announced its 2017 season schedule featuring 13 PRO racing rounds over seven event weekends at many of the country’s most popular off-road tracks. The 2017 schedule will continue to build a solid foundation encouraging further growth and public awareness of off-road short course truck racing, the drivers and the series. MSI, the owners of the TORC series, remain focused on improving the overall racing experience for both fans and drivers.

“In 2016, we began the process of renewing the stability of the TORC series. The 2017 schedule will further connect short course off-road racing to its roots in an inclusive manner centered around drivers and fans,” said Adam Comey MSI-TORC CEO/President. “We appreciate the devoted fanbase of outdoor enthusiasts, families and fans who support the sport through watching our broadcast coverage and by coming out to races. The TORC community can look forward to seven eventful weekends of the best racing the series has ever seen.”

The 2017 season will continue to include PRO 4WD, PRO 2WD and PRO Light truck racing at all 13 rounds. Following the successful addition of PRO UTV racing in 2016, with over 50 drivers getting in on the action, TORC series will host both classes of PRO UTV at all race locations. Every race weekend will also include Sportsmen class drivers; with the goal of encouraging new talent to get behind the wheel.

“With the 2017 schedule, we will further elevate the overall TORC experience while also refining the professionalism and structure of each race,” said TORC Series Director Ben Nelson. “We will continue to listen to our drivers and remain sharply focused on developing a solid racing product. TORC appreciates that we are a community of fans, drivers and their teams. We strive to serve this community to the best of our ability.”

“I am beyond excited for the 2017 race season. Not only has our team had major success at all of these tracks in the past, but these are phenomenal venues dedicated to the sport,” said TORC PRO Light Driver Cam Reimers. “We have it all next season—short tracks in large markets, rising venues that staked their claim in 2016 and legendary facilities where we witnessed tens of thousands of die-hard fans pour into the middle of nowhere and put on one of the most amazing events in motorsports. The 2017 season looks to be the biggest yet and one fans won’t want to miss.”

The TORC racing season will kick off with Rounds 1 & 2 in Chicago May 6-7. From there, the series will head to Elk River Motor Park (ERX) for Rounds 3 & 4 June 10-11. ERX hosted TORC racing for the first time in 2016. Both organizers and drivers were thrilled with the racing as well as the enthusiastic turnout. The series and the venue look forward to an even larger showing of fans in 2017.

Next, the championship will return to Crandon International Off-Road Raceway on June 24-25 for Rounds 5 & 6. The facility has hosted off-road racing events for more than 47 years and was home to the inaugural Crandon World Cup in 2016, a Red Bull Signature Series event.

Rounds 7 & 8 will reunite TORC with the fans of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula July 15-16 at Bark River International Raceway, which features one of the series’ most demanding tracks with some of the fastest corners and biggest jumps in the sport. In 2017, Bark River will be celebrating its 42nd year of hosting off-road racing in the Upper Peninsula.

Dedicated motorsports fans will also be excited to learn that TORC will return to Red Bud, Aug. 12-13 for the first time since 2012. Rounds 9 & 10 will take place at this iconic location featuring a purpose-built track designed specifically for TORC racing.

For Round 11, TORC will return to The Big House, joining Crandon’s Labor Day weekend celebration. The 2016 season saw more than 49,600 fans gather at this legendary event over the course of the weekend.

Finally, the season will conclude with The Final Round: TORC National Championship, Rounds 12 & 13; a second weekend of racing at ERX Motor Park. Fans from across the country will be able to gather for a special weekend of racing solely dedicated to crowning the 2017 Champions.

“The 2016 season was awesome! I had a lot of fun battling with everyone all year long and can’t wait till 2017,” said 2016 TORC PRO 4WD and PRO 2WD Overall Champion CJ Greaves. “We have a few big changes going on, and the TORC crew did a great job with the new schedule. I am really pumped to be going back to ERX and Red Bud.”
